"When you see how grand and interwoven is our existence… and how precarious is our future…then you will be fully awake." - Probe Jo’Horra

Far from the city, Westover Lake Orphanage is a sanctuary for abandoned children of the Light People. When the orphans ask their guardians why their parents rejected them, they always receive the same answer: "You were never rejected– we rescued you from your dreadful parents. They couldn't see how special you are." However, the children know that when their guardians say “special,” they are speaking of the orphans’ “light” deformities.

The children seldom complain. Content with their warm home and guardians' love, they each find solace, acceptance, and friendship. All except Eli.

Reclusive and strange, no one notices Eli anymore. Not until the night of the carnival, when Hortense, Sybil, Bruno, Herschel, Maud, and Tisdale (one of the teenage cliques) sneak out for a forbidden late night adventure, and are forced to take Eli with them. They never imagine their world will change forever, nor that Eli might be their only hope for deliverance...
ANDY HORNER Creator and Writer - During a road trip in the mid 90's, Andy pulled off at a little-known tourist stop for a break. The specific and disturbing nature of that place inspired the Light Children saga. There, the story sprung to life in rewind from end to beginning. Andy was determined this would be his first published narrative - a graphic novel. He would have to find someone who could illustrate the magical, haunting tale as he saw it in his mind. In 2005, Andy discovered Kyle's illustration on the web. The two met at a coffee shop in Winston-Salem. Andy shared the story and Kyle immediately agreed to illustrate Light Children. After more than ten years, this dark fantasy is finally ready to be brought to life.

Andy lives in Lynchburg, VA with his wife Tonia and their two sons. When not lost in his imagination, Andy works as a Marketing Consultant.
